I see that the City has voted it down. Personally I think a Tattoo shop would be good for the Island.

I just received a notice that a Tattoo shop may be opening at 331 1/2 Sumner Ave, does anyone know anything about this?? I don't mind a tattoo shop but not in the middle of a residential block.

Avalon would be remiss to miss the obvious commerce it would bring in. Years ago a friend did temporary tattoos for cruse ship people and really brought a lot of positive attention to the ciommunity. Everyone I've met always wants to get a tattoo, or to gett their current tattoo worked on by such tatlented artists. It is Art. Living breathing permanent Art that is a lifetime of free Promotion for Avalon. If you allow piercers, facialists, waxers, zip lines, parasailing, diving, snorkeling and all the rest of that-there really is no logical protest that can be levied. Tattoos are recognized in many different National Art Associations, and the National Art Institute....

Hamilton has a bunch of vacatuion rentals. Catalina Adventure tours is down around 310. Along with Hamilton office and Choices center...I live at 317 Sumner and our family rents 334 Sumner. The noise of the golf carts should be your biggest concern. Sumner is essence is made up of businesses if you think about the rentals.



I can't really think that is your real concern...

Yes, let them open the shop! Most sea going pirates had tats. I think it would be good for the island to offer flying fish tats, heck even at my age, I'd be a customer.
